An interview with The Cincinnati Enquirer

Born and raised in Anderson Township, Sharon Wheatley headed to New York City soon after graduation from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She established herself as a Broadway singer, appearing in "Cats," "Les Misérables" and "The Phantom of the Opera."

The Cincinnati Enquirer's story on me being cast in Avenue Q

My hometown newspaper, The Cincinnati Enquirer, ran this story when I was cast in Avenue Q:

Sharon Wheatley, graduate of Ayer Elementary, Ursuline Academy, College-Conservatory of Music and Broadway veteran of "Cats," "Les Miz" and "Phantom of the Opera" is moving to "Avenue Q" - in Las Vegas.

If you happen to be in Sin City this fall, check out Steve Wynn's much-anticipated new hotel/casino. That's where the Tony Award-winning, puppet-starring satire has its own theater.

'Cats' pause

The Enquirer ran this story when I performed in the final performance of CATS in September of 2000.

Anderson Township's Sharon Wheatley will be among the Broadway Cats dancing at their last Jellicle Ball tonight.

When the curtain comes down after 18 years and 7,485 performances on the longest-running musical in Broadway history, Ms. Wheatley says she'll be happy to take a breather and spend a little more time with her toddler, Charlotte.
